Our Story
In 1973, Maria and Filippo Rovito brought their rich Italian heritage to the United States. By 1985, they opened their first restaurant in Berwyn, Illinois, with their family at the heart of it all.
Johnny and Robert, the family's talented chefs, carried on the culinary tradition. Recently, Johnny has moved to Hilton Head Island, bringing with him the authentic Italian cooking that has been a family hallmark for generations.

At Coastal Capri Ristorante, I bring over three decades of culinary experience to every dish we serve. Over the years, I’ve crafted and perfected recipes that focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and authentic flavors. My goal is simple: to create meals that leave a lasting impression you’ll think about long after the meal is over and make you eager to return. This is my passion, and I’m excited to share it with you.
